Q&A With Monelise:
K: How do you find inspiration to write your songs?
M: I know it sounds paradoxical, but lately, I've been finding inspiration within the discipline of daily songwriting. By showing up consistently, I've tapped into a boundless flow of inspiration from almost indiscernible, ethereal sources.
K: If you could collab with any artist, who would you collab with and why?
M: It's a dream of mine to collaborate with Kate Bush. I admire her comprehensive approach to creating a universe out of her songs. And, I mean…she’s Kate Bush!
K: Do you have any future projects that you can tell us about or hint at?
M: Yes! I recently worked on a music video collaboration involving crocodiles, snakes, and a historic, witchy well into which I jumped! Keep an eye out...
K: If you could describe yourself in 3 words & your music in 3 words, what would they be and why?
M: I'd describe myself as passionate, resourceful, and elemental. I would describe my music as mythological, immersive, and serpent-like.
K: What was the moment in life when you were like ‘I want to do music’?
M: The moment I first touched the keys of a piano! Playing my first Chopin Nocturne was also a defining moment.
K: What is your favourite Musical Memory?
M: An unexpected standing ovation for "Hauntology" at the Edinburgh Fringe.
K: What is your favourite song at the moment?
K: Here at Grooving with K, I love recommending new artists that my viewers would love. So my last question would be, Do you have any artists that you have your eyes on that you would recommend to others?
M: Yes, Weyes Blood! She is the artist behind the aforementioned song
