Deadbeat Girl releases single 'Make Me Cry' (featuring Ari Abdul)

About Deadbeat Girl:

Deadbeat Girl (Val) is a 20-year-old artist and producer based in South Florida. They launched their debut single back in November of last year after spending the pandemic writing their own songs. From a young age, they gravitated towards their parents’ record and CD collection, falling in love with the grunge movement of the nineties and alternative rock ballads of the early 2000’s. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Foo Fighters, and Death Cab For Cutie were on constant replay in their childhood home. Over time, modern day musicians helped shape their sound like Girl In Red, Day Wave, Arlo Parks and Billie Eilish.

About Ari Abdul:

Ari Abdul is a Brooklyn-born and bred as of an Ecuadorian-Costa Rican descent singer-songwriter who is known for her huge hit 'BABYDOLL' and has racked over 250 million streams. Ari uses music to present and her innermost feelings and thoughts, crafting emotional indie-dance anthems that are as ambient as they are impactful.

About 'Make Me Cry'

This single is a follow-up to their most recent single 'When You Went' (Article to the review of 'When You Went' here). The release saw them evolve their alt-indie sound to embrace their love for drum and bass, adding another string to the emerging artists bow. This single was produced by Isaac Dunbar.

What I Thought About The Single:

This song has a edgy vibe, when alt-indie meets a sultry alt-pop genre.

Deadbeat Girl will be joining forces with friend and collaborator Ari Adbul once more on her global tour later this year!
