Updated: Mar 2, 2023

If you like songs by Taylor Swift, mxmtoon, beabadoobee, or any songs from Disney Channel (from the late 2000’s), then you’ll like indie-alt-pop singer-songwriter Dani Vong.

About Dani Vong:

Dani Vong is a Lao-American artist based in Houston, Texas. She writes in a genre that is a sad girl indie pop. Dani began writing songs in her bedroom as an outlet to misunderstood emotions, she found her musical influences through listening to radio top 40 charts and old YouTube covers (examples of musicians that started on YouTube before rising to fame: Christina Grimmie and dodie). Using her melancholy lyrics and upbeat melodies, she now writes and produces her own music, directs her own visual brand, and manages her own content. And this month, she shares her debut album, GOOD GRIEF!, fully fueled by herself!!

About ’GOOD GRIEF’:

This album is an homage to recognize self-worth and breaking free from the binds of what is the expectations of others. Vong stated that growing up with the impossible romance that is portrayed by the Western media and financially supporting her immigrant parents with anticipation, “My soul was buried and this album is the shovel that helped me find air.” This 8-track album (with three of the singles that have been released: What’s Real Anymore’, ‘In My Head’ and ‘Days After You’) has made Dani feel free and she knows that there are people who feel the same way.
