Annabel Gutherz is a singer-songwriter based in Montreal, Canada. She combines her compelling, diaristic storytelling with honeyed melodies. distinct vocals and her keen musical ear. She graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Music Studies, and is now completing her Master’s of Arts degree in songwriting at Berklee.

About ”Saturn’s Rings”:

Produced by Bleu McAuley (worked with artists like Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Michelle Branch), this song continues the intergalactic theme that she introduced with her singles ’Retrograde’ and ’Interstellar’. “Saturn’s Rings” is a celestial ballad that her harmonic vocals float atop a soundscape of theatrical instrumentation. She stated that this song ”is about being enveloped by your thoughts and feeling for an ex, despite the amount of time that has passed between you two.”

What I thought about the song:

It has a soothing instrumental. The lyrics tell a story that is a descriptive thought of everything that you and your ex has been through, and it is a song that has a lot of metaphors in the lyric, one lyric that stood out to me (that has a metaphor in it) is ”(…) I‘m still wrapped around you like Saturn’s Rings.“ which is a comparison between the feeling of being wrapped around your ex’s arms to Saturns Rings (hence the title “Saturn’s Rings”).
