It was the year 2008, and Gwen Rogers has been super busy with creating a special type of medicine in a lab called "MedicineLab" that could cure an unknown disease that is rapidly spreading. 

 

Meanwhile, her friend, Police Sergeant David "Skipper" Budd has been busy protecting a political member in the United Kingdom; Home Secretary Peggy Montague. Montague has been targeted by a mysterious group of criminals who do not believe what she plans to do. Peggy designed an act that increases the monitoring and surveillance abilities of the security services in the face of an incoming terror attack; called the 'Revised Investigatory Powers Act 2008' (for short: RIPA-08).

One Monday afternoon, David was supervising the Home Secretary at her estate until he got a call from Gwen, asking if he could volunteer to test out the new medicine that she had been working on.

 

"Hey Dave, can you come over and volunteer to test the special medicine I'm working on?" said Gwen.

 

"I'm sorry Gwen." Budd replied, "I am at work."

 

"Please, Budd. It would only take 3 minutes."

 

"Gwen. I am sorry, but I must protect the Home Secretary"

 

Gwen hung up right after David told her he had to protect and supervise the Home Secretary. But then, the doorbell rang. Budd checked the windows to see if a vehicle or a person was standing by the estate, and surprisingly there was someone near the door.

 

"Peggy Montague, open the door," an unknown person said. "I need to speak with you privately. I know that you have a bodyguard from the Protective Services unit." It sounded like a woman was trying to talk to the Head Secretary.

​

The mysterious person was a woman with brunette hair with blonde highlights and was wearing some type of trench coat. "I think they want to talk to me about RIPA-08" Peggy whispered.

​

"Are they trying to hurt me? Or are they just trying to chat about the act that I want to have in place?" 

​

Just as David Budd was about to answer her question, they heard another person talking. Peggy started to worry and asked him "What should we do?"

 

"Mam, I got everything under control," said Budd.

 

He started to talk through his intercom talking with his co-workers about the mysterious incident that was happening right outside of Montague's estate. 

 

"This is Zulu-Seven-Peter-Nine," said Budd

"We have an incident occurring zero-point-zero-zero-one metres away from the Home Secretary's estate. There are two members of the public trying to interrogate and talk to Montague."

​

"Zulu-Seven-Peter-Nine", said the operator through the intercom, "Can you describe the two people."

​

"Uh... One of them is a woman with brunette hair with blonde highlights and the other one is a man with a huge scar on the right side of his face and he has a blue beanie on."

​

"What else can you describe the two people?"

 

"They are both wearing trench coats as if they were spies from abroad."

 

As Budd is talking to the operator through the intercom device, Peggy sees that one of them has some type of weapon.

"Budd!!" Peggy screamed, "One of them has a weapon!!"
 

As soon as Budd heard her say that he continued to talk with the operator by saying:

​

"This is Zulu-Seven-Peter-Nine, we need backup, I repeat! We need backup!!"

 

"Lockdown is ongoing and ATCs are arriving in ten minutes."

 

Dave comforted Peggy by saying "Mam, everything is going to be okay. I have called for backup."

 

While Budd was comforting the Home Secretary, mysterious woman whispered to her partner "Oh my Goodness!! My friend is comforting the Home Secretary. We need to create a distraction." 

 

Budd ran towards the door and peaked through the window, and he could not believe his eyes. It was Gwen who was the mysterious woman who was at the front door asking to talk to Peggy.

 

"Gwen?!" said Budd

​

"What are you doing at the Home Secretary's home? Weren't you supposed to create a medicine that can help with curing the unknown disease? And who is this you are with? Is this your boyfriend?"

 

​​"Dave!" said Gwen, nervously

​

"Umm. I just want to say that I want to talk to the Home Secretary. And the man that is with me is your friend, Harry Parker."

"Harry?" said Budd, confused. 

 

"Harry, as in the person that I went to war with?"

 

"That's me." Harry replied while taking the beanie off of his head, "Don't you remember?"

​

As Dave and Harry were talking, Gwen started to go in and try to find a way to get to the Home Secretary.

 

"Where's Gwen?" Budd questioned Harry.

 

Just then, David heard a loud thud, it was coming from Montague's bedroom suite.

 

Just then Gwen came back. Dave asked Gwen "Gwen, where were you and why did it look like you were just coming out of Montague's bedroom?"

 

"Uhm.." said Gwen with a shaky tone

"I just had to go and check if the Home Secretary had to take her medicine."

 

"Medicine?" said Budd with a confused but stressed voice 

"What Medicine? Peggy doesn't take any medication..."
